Hailing from Dorset and currently based in Oxford, Niamh began creating graphics and artwork for student theatre productions while studying English Literature at Oxford in 2017. Their distinct aesthetic soon caught the attention of Lady Margaret Hall College, who commissioned them to create the artwork from their welfare programme. Since then, they have showcased their bold, quirky and ingenious design sensibilities for clients including the award-winning Poltergeist Theatre Company, ACORN Oxford, Brook Sex Positive and Oxford Pride.
In their own work Niamh showcases a broad and adaptable range of styles, from delicately rendered digital watercolour portraits to line-drawn comics to vivid and dynamic typography prints. They count Alison Bechdel, Erika Moen, Tom Eckersley, Saul Bass, and the 1968 Camden Poster Workshop among their influences, as well as their own experience with drag performance and makeup artistry. Their designs, whether playful or dramatic, share prevailing themes of queer sexuality, gender expression and social justice, and they are keen to collaborate with other creators who share those values.
